MELVIN JAMES “Jim” BOMBARA, 81, of Butler Co., Parker, Pa. passed away early Monday morning (05-09-16) at his residence following a period of declining health. Born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on December 12, 1934, he was son of the late Valentine and Margaret Younger Bombara. He was Catholic by denomination. Jim was retired crane operator with J&L Steel Corp. of Pittsburgh. Mr. Bombara was an honorably discharged U. S. Navy veteran serving from April of 1952 through December of 1955. He served with UDT (pre Navy Seal) during his period of service. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Redding Chalmers Bombara whom he married April 31, 1978; six children: James (Valerie) Bombara,, Jeffrey (Donna) Bombara, Janice (Brian) Carroll, Eric (Becky) Chalmers, Bryn (finance Courtney) Chalmers, and Mark (Adrienne) Chalmers; following grandchildren: Matthew, Sara, Peter Bombara; Emily, Rachel, Joshua, Adam, Drew, Lane, Trent, and Hadley Chalmers; Landon Henery and Ian Runyun; two sisters: Mary Jean Nix and Mercedes (Lawrence) Leathers, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister June Kozuch and brother Charles J. Bombara
