Lorraine Girty, 66, of Oil City, Pa., formerly of Parker, Pa., passed away after an illness at UPMC Hamot on Saturday (3/13/2021) morning. She was born in Butler, Pa. on July 1, 1954. She was the daughter of the late Denzil R. and Laurella Marie Barger Callender. Lorraine was a 1972 graduate of ACV High School. She enjoyed volunteering with Americorps, Triple-A Pregnancy Center, and working at Headstart in St. Petersburg and UPMC Seneca. She attended various churches over the years but thoroughly enjoyed attending services at Chapel on the Hill in Emlenton. Her hobbies included gardening, crafting, having grandma's nights, and caring for her pets. She was a published author with her book "The Angry Gerbil" and had a strong faith in sharing her story with others. She is survived by her husband Richard Girty of Oil City. Her children: Forrest (Robin) Hurrelbrink Jr. of Tn.; Leandra Harlow and fiance' Mike of Sandy Lake; Heather (John) Custer of Emlenton; Jacob Hurrelbrink and Fiance' Laura of Butler; Steven-Dean (Jenn) Hurrelbrink of Oil City; and Rebecca (Aaron) Burroway of Fryburg. One brother: Wendell Callender of Emlenton. Seventeen Grandchildren and Eleven Great-Grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur W.J. Hurrelbrink Jr. Her sons: Derick and Isac. One brother Walter Callender. Friends will be received at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home in Parker (201 S. Wayne Ave.) on Tuesday the 16th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A private family funeral service will take place the following day. Interment will be held at St. Paul Union Cemetery in Knox. CDC and Dept. of Health guidelines will be expected.
