Lori Jean Haller
October 16, 1958 - March 15, 2021
Lori Jean Haller departed this life on Monday, March 15 following a brief battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Lori was born in Butler on October 16, 1958, to Russell W. and Gloria Findley Haller, the youngest of four Haller children. Her life was an interesting and challenging path. Her proudest achievements were her children, Cortnie L. Watson and her son, Joshua W. Meehan. Lori discovered the meaning of true love when her grandchildren were born. She reveled in her time with her grandbabies – Cortnie’s children - Malik, Maliah, and Maiya Watson and Josh and his wife, Brittney’s, girls - Jaysa, Blayke, and Zoey Meehan. She frequently told anyone who listened that grandchildren were life’s greatest gifts. Lori is also survived by her fur-baby, Maddie, her close friend, Daryl Butler, and her siblings, Linda Hemmes, and her husband, Marty and their children Justin and Tanya Bennitt and Tanya’s son, Fin; Chris Haller and his son, Kyle; and Janet McKain and her children, Ryan Haller and his wife, Alicia, Costen McKain and his significant other, Marissa, and Samantha McKain, and her significant other, Brandon. Lori’s home was open to anybody who needed a hug, a shoulder to cry on, or a place to feel safe. Her Scotcharoos were world-famous and her entire family looked forward to any holidays or events where Lori felt compelled to make and share her wonderful creation. Lori enjoyed a variety of jobs in her life - from EMT to phlebotomist and finally, her “get me out of the house for a little bit” job as a cashier at Lowe’s, where she thoroughly enjoyed talking to customers each day. Lori was a double-lung and kidney transplant recipient and really wanted the world to know how important her donors were and the true need for everyone to be an organ donor. She lived a much longer life because of her donors, Jack Ryan and Marc Haller. We will miss her every day. In the early 2000s, Lori visited and fell in love with Ireland. As a result, her wish was to be cremated and her ashes are to be scattered at the stunningly beautiful Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Ireland. Her family will make her wish a reality. Funeral services are under the care of Buzard Funeral Home, in Eau Claire, PA. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 200 East North Street, in Butler on Friday, March 19, 2021, at 11 AM. Family and friends are invited to stop by Lori’s home following the church services in Butler to share memories and reminisce about our lives with Lori. A celebration of life will follow in May. Details will be forthcoming.
