JOSEPH H. "Joe" McCALL, 79, of Perry Twp., Parker, Pa. passed away mid-afternoon Thursday (04-05-12) of natural causes en route to his home following discharge from UPMC-Seneca. Born in Perry Twp., Clarion Co. on Feb. 15, 1933, he was the son of the late Byron F. and Mary K. Heeter McCall. Joe was a 1951 graduate of the former Parker High School, and he served with the U. S. Navy from 1952 through 1956. He was an aviation mechanic with the service. He was employed over thirty years with the former C&K Coal Co. of Clarion Co., with his last position being supervisor of tipple operations. He then served over twelve years as township supervisor with Perry Township, Clarion Co. Joe was a member of Parker City-Allegheny Valley Lodge F. & A.M. #521 of Parker, New Castle Consistory, and ZemZem Shrine of Erie. He was a life member of the ACV Sportsmen Club of Perry Twp. and the Northern Butler Hunting and Fishing Club. Joe was an avid trap shooter, hunter, and avid sports fan of his grandchildren. He served many years as Scoutmaster with the Boy Scout troop in West Freedom. He was a member of the Parker United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Earla Myers McCall; two daughters and husbands: Carla (Matthew) Manculich of Parker and Coleen (Alan) Matthews of Erie; five grandchildren: Alicia, Tonya, and Adam Matthews and Ashley and Joseph Manculich; one great-grandchild: Jonathan Jaime, Jr. step-daughter: Lisa Reay of DuBois, Pa.; two sisters: Theda "Snooks" McMahon of Clearview Home, Sligo and Judie (Ron) Botz of Parker; one brother: Gerald "Jerry" (Joanie) McCall of Knox; many nieces and nephews including special nephew and hunting companion, Gregg Dietz of North Carolina. In addition to parents, Joe was preceded in death by first wife, Rita Stewart McCall who passed June 24, 1986; son Joseph Todd McCall who passed Sept. 2, 1992; two sisters: Betty Dietz and Norma "Tiny" Kriebel; two brothers: "Dick" and Dean McCall. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 PM Saturday (today) at H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 So. Wayne Ave., Parker. No visitation Easter Sunday. Further visitation 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday at Parker United Methodist Church where services will be held at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ken Hughes, church pastor, officiating. Committal services and Veterans services at 2:00 PM Monday at Perryville Cemetery, near Parker. Masonic Lodge #521 will conduct memorial services for departed brother at 6:00 PM Saturday at funeral home. VFW and American Legion will conduct graveside veteran service at 2:00 PM Monday at Perryville Cemetery.
