GLENN DARWIN RILEY, 76, of Callensburg, Pa. left this earth at 8:52 AM Wednesday (06-25-2014) at his residence with his family at his side, following an over two year battle with cancer. Born in Wentling's Corners, Clarion Co., on February 9, 1938, he was the son of the late Glenn and Dorothy Hewitt Riley. Glenn graduated from Keystone Area High School in Knox in 1956, and entered the U. S. Coast Guard. Honorably discharged following twelve years of service, he earned three Coast Guard Good Conduct Medals and the National Defense Service Award. Mr. Riley worked most of his adult life as a self-employed electronics technician, working for various operations including Honeywell at Hershey, Pa. and ITT. His hobbies included amateur photography, golfing, fishing, repairing watches, and being a life long lover of music. Glenn was United Methodist by faith. Surviving are his wife, Edna Hepler Heeter Riley, whom he married July 5, 2003. He is also survived by a daughter, Glenda (Roberto) Zapata of Palmer, Alaska; a son Clinton (Elma) Riley of Sinton, Texas; three step-daughters: Stephanie Heeter of Sligo, Valerie (John) Heeter of Fairborn, Ohio, and Kelly (Paul) Hysong of Waynesville, Ohio; a stepson Dan (Erika) Heeter of Southington, CT.; one grandchild: Roberto Zapata, Jr. of Seamore-Johnson AFB in North Carolina; four step-grandchildren: Shanna (Shawn) Best, Jon (Ashley) Heeter, Jordan Heeter, and Dana (Twila) Wysong; four step-greatgrandchildren: Hannah and Owen Heeter and Natalie and Jasmine Wysong. Glenn is also survived by four sisters: Joyce Hunsburger of Knox, Patty (Ray) Menke of Grove City, Linda (Dan) Smith of Ocala, FL, and Janet Aaron of Knox; two brothers: Jack (Renee) Riley of Richmond, VA and Charles (June) Riley of Midland, VA., and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings. Visitation for Glenn's family and friends will be from 1:30 to 2:30 PM Sunday, June 29 at the Callensburg United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 PM in the church with Rev. Randy Evans, Clarion-Forest VNA Chaplain and Rev. Corben Russell, church pastor, co-officiating. The family suggests memorials to Clarion-Forest VNA, 271 Perkins Rd., Clarion, Pa. 16214 or the Callensburg United Methodist Church, Callensburg, Pa. 16213.
