George "Joe" Mechling, Jr.

GEORGE CALVIN “Joe” MECHLING Jr., 68, of Parker passed away Friday morning (08-18-17) at his residence following an illness. Born in Kittanning, Pa. on June 14, 1949, he was the son of the late George C. Sr. and Maxine Atwood Mechling. Joe was an honorably discharged veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Viet Nam and Okinawa, serving from Mar. of 1969 to March of 1979. He earned the the Viet Nam Service and VN Campaign Medals, Viet Nam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct, and NDSM. “Joe” was employed over 30 yrs. in the truck driving industry, with last assignment with Richochet Express at Shippenville. Surviving are his wife Sherry Lynn Sullivan Mechling; three sons: Jeremy (Crystal) Mechling of Parker, Nathan (Melissa) Mechling of Butler, and Adam (Marilyn) Warner of Franklin; eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild; two sisters: Sandy Black of Emlenton and Shari Tarr (Richard) Stull of Freeport; one brother, Jeff (Melinda) Mechling of Perryville; number of nieces and nephews.
