Betty Jane Thompson

August 8, 1932 - January 7, 2018

Betty Jane Thompson 85, of Eau Claire passed away at 7:24 AM Sunday morning(01-07-18) at Good Samaritan Hospice - Concordia following an extended illness. Born in Hooker, Butler Co., Pa. on August 8, 1932, she was daughter of the late Joseph and Stella Boosel Mondell. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church of Eau Claire and graduated from the former Concord High School in Hooker. Betty, along with her late husband Dean, served as school bus contractor for the Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District from 1973 to 2000. She was married in Concord Township, Butler Co. in 1951 to the late C. Dean Thompson who passed away June 17, 2017. Betty is survived by two sons and wives: Timothy Scott “Tim” and Laurie Thompson of Eau Claire and Rodney K. and Kimberly Thompson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five grandsons:  Quinnten, Justin (Erica), Zackery (Kelley), and twins Cody and Kyle Thompson;  four great-grandchildren: Ashton, Cameron and Caelynn (twins), and Carson Thompson.  Also a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by stepmother, Amanda Mondell, sisters Doris Wheaton and Lois Lominski, and infant brother Ralph Mondell. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday (Jan.10th) at H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 So. Washington St (Rte 38), Eau Claire where funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM.  Private burial in Eau Claire Cemetery.
