Nancy Ann Rider Conner, 80, of Clarion, passed away April 11, at the Butler VNA In-Patient Hospice following an illness. Nancy was born in Rimersburg, PA., on October 4, 1937. She was the the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Lindenpitz Rider. She attended the Union High School in Rimersburg and graduated in 1955. She married her love, the late Wynan Conner in Dutch Hill on August 15, 1958. A gifted artist, she worked with many different mediums, including acrylic and oil painting, quilting, cake decorating, flower arranging, gourd carving, embroidery, crochet, needlework, knitting and various hand crafted decorations. Some of these items will be on display at the viewing and funeral service. She served the Lord by contributing to the community in coordinating a Casserole Care Ministry to sick and grieving persons, teaching preschool and first grade children in Sunday School for fifteen years, organizing weekly Family Night dinner ministry, and participating in the church and handbell choirs. She also crafted cards with tatted designs for those in need and provided painting classes to the community. She especially enjoyed baking, reading fiction books about Amish life, and spending time with her family. Her love for her grandchildren is evidenced by her email address (love2bgran)
Nancy is survived by her two daughters: Brenda Aughenbaugh and husband William of Clarion, PA.; and Paula Maynard and husband Lynn of Dillsburg, PA. Six grandchildren: Benjamin, Daniel and Ariane Aughenbaugh, Brennan, Aaron and Evan Maynard. Three sisters: Gladys Lustic of Hartwick, PA; Norma Krise of Clearfield, PA; and Pamela Miller of Hickory, NC. One brother: Otto "Skip" Rider of Rimersburg, PA.
In addition to her husband and parents Nancy was preceded in death by two brothers: D. Vaughn Rider of Bruin, PA; and Craig Rider of Rimersburg, PA.
Friends will be received at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home in Parker, PA (201 S. Wayne Ave) on Saturday April 14th, from 4-8PM. Visitation will also be held on Sunday April 15th, from 2-3PM at the Park Hill First Church of God in West Freedom (Lime Plant RD.) near Parker, PA. The funeral service will begin at 3PM with Reverend Eric Mitchell officiating.
Interment will be held Monday morning the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Conneration.
