M. NORABELLE GERWICK YOUNG, 97, of Grove City, formerly of the Emlenton area, passed into Eternal Rest at 7:07 AM Sunday morning (02-04-18) at Orchard Manor in Grove City where she had resided for a number of years.
Born in Allegheny Two., Butler Co., Pa. on November 1, 1920, she was daughter of the late William D. and Esther Blanche Stevenson Gerwick.
“Norrie” enjoyed country music along with her late husband Frank, but was also well known as an avid bingo player.
She was a member of the Church of God of Grove City, and was a lady deeply devoted to her entire family.
Surviving are two daughters and husbands: Jean (Paul) Schmidt of Grove City and Shirley (Harold) Heller of Franklin; one son and wife: Larry (Elizabeth) Young of Franklin; one daughter-in-law: Kay Young of East Butler; thirteen grandchildren, and many great and great-greatgrandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank E. Young whom she married June 10, 1937 and who passed August 14, 1992. Mrs. Young was also preceded in death by her son, Donald Young who had resided in East Butler. The last surviving member of a family of ten siblings, “Norrie” was preceded in death by Abigail Levy, Kathryn Shoup, Kenneth, Robert, George, William, Clarence, Donald, and Lewis Gerwick.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Mrs. Young’s name to Orchard Manor, 20 Orchard Drive, Grove City, Pa. 16127.
