BETTY AUDEAN DEFIBAUGH, 90, of West Freedom passed away late Tuesday morning (12-19-17) at her residence of natural causes.
Born in Perry Two., Clarion Co. on August 29, 1927, she was daughter of late Joseph Edward and Birdie Rachel McCall Smith.
She was married in 1946 to John A. Defibaugh who passed away in 1972.
Audean was a longtime and active member of the West Freedom United Methodist Church as long as health permitted.
She possessed a unique talent in the art of cooking and baking, and loved to share the prepared food to others less fortunate than her. But her real love was caring not only about her children, but sharing time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are three sons and wives: David (Linda), Gary (Karen), and Charles “Chuck” (Theresa) Defibaugh, all of Parker; daughter-in-law Bonnie Defibaugh of Venus; son-in-law Pastor Ray Koscielek of Carlisle; ten grandchildren: Melinda Budd, Jennifer Larkin, Jessica and Joseph Defibaugh, Korey and Joshua Defibaugh, Erin Barlett, Taylor Morgano, Hunter and Hayden Defibaugh; twelve great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter Brenda Koscielek on October 23, 2017 and a son John Edward “Ed” Defibaugh on February 23, 2016.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 So. Wayne Ave., Parker, and 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday morning at West Freedom United Methodist Church (Pa. Rte. 368 - Perry Twp. near Parker). Funeral service at 11:00 AM Saturday with Rev. Dan Myers, retired United Methodist minister and family friend, officiating. Interment to follow at West Freedom Cemetery.
